Setup

You've been chatting with a smart generalist that has never met your organization — or ours. The connector walks it into the For Impact building: our frameworks, our templates, our coaching history, our funder database configuration, and your own document library. Same chat box. Different capability.

You need: an invitation from your cohort lead (your email must be on the member list) and a paid AI assistant account.

claude.ai

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Copy this URL and paste it there: 
    https://cohort.forimpactservices.org/mcp/mcp
    This URL is not a web page — if you open it in your browser you'll see an "Unauthorized" error. That's normal; it only works pasted into the settings screen.
  3. Click Add, then Connect and sign in with the Google account your invitation was sent to.
  4. First time only: you'll be asked to accept the cohort terms — one click.
  5. Start a new chat and try a prompt from the use-case library.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Connectors (requires a paid plan that supports custom connectors/MCP).
  2. Add a connector with the same URL:

  3. Sign in with Google when prompted and accept the cohort terms.
